Kansas Humanities Council History Alive
This Program is provided by the Kansas Humanities Council, a non profit organization with over 30 years of experience promoting understanding of the history, traditions, and ideas that shape our lives and build community.

Joyce Thierer is an independent scholar and founding member of Ride into History, an historic performance touring troupe. She also teaches history for Emporia State University. She holds a Ph.D. in history from Kansas State University and master's degrees in history and library science from ESU. Dr. Thierer's research interests focus on rural women's history and the history of the American West. She is a member of the Kansas Humanities Council Speakers Bureau as well as a book discussion leader. She joined the KHC History Alive program in 1993.
